Automated three-dimensional warehouse management, control, main characteristics and composition
2019/9/3 15:04:00

The main features of an automated three-dimensional warehouse are:

(1) By utilizing computer management, material inventory accounts are clear, material storage locations are accurate, and the response speed to material requirements in automated manufacturing systems is fast;

(2) Connected with handling equipment such as AGVs, rail cars, and conveyor belts, it can reliably and timely supply materials;

(3) Reduce inventory levels and accelerate capital turnover;

(4) Fully utilize space and reduce factory area;

(5) Reduce workpiece damage and material loss;

(6) Wide range of materials that can be stored;

(7) Reduce management personnel and lower management costs;

(8) Expensive and suitable for a certain scale of production.

Composition of Automated Stereoscopic Warehouse

Automated three-dimensional warehouses are mainly composed of warehouses, shelves, stacking cranes, peripheral conveying equipment, automatic control devices, etc. High rise shelves are arranged in pairs, with aisles between them. Depending on the size of the warehouse, there can be one to several aisles. Storage and outbound are usually arranged at one end of the tunnel, and sometimes can also be designed to be stored and outbound from both ends of the tunnel. Each tunnel has a tunnel stacking crane. The length of the alley is generally several tens of meters, and the height of the shelves depends on the height of the factory building, usually around ten meters. Shelves are usually composed of uniformly sized compartments. The material of the shelves is generally made of metal profiles, and the pallets on the shelves are made of metal plates or wooden boards (lightweight parts), most of which are made of metal plates. The parts that enter the high storage area are usually loaded into standard cargo boxes first, and then the cargo boxes are loaded into the compartments of the high storage area. The weight of the parts or cargo boxes stored in each compartment generally does not exceed 1T, and their volume does not exceed 1. Large and heavy parts are generally not stored in a three-dimensional warehouse due to lifting difficulties.

Management and Control of Automated Stereoscopic Warehouse

Automated three-dimensional warehouses achieve automated warehouse management and automated inbound and outbound operations. Warehouse management automation includes computer management of accounts, containers, locations, and other information. The automation of inbound and outbound operations includes automatic identification and addressing of cargo box parts, automatic detection of cargo compartment status, and automatic control of various actions of stacker cranes.

(1) The automatic identification and storage of goods are key to the operation of automated warehouses. The automatic identification of goods usually uses coding technology to encode the compartments and boxes, with barcodes attached to appropriate parts of the boxes or pallets. When the boxes pass through the storage conveyor track, barcode scanners automatically scan and decode the barcodes, and the relevant information of the box parts is automatically entered into the computer.

(2) Computer management of automated warehouses includes material management, account management, location management, and information management. Reasonably allocate the cargo boxes to various aisle work areas during storage, and follow the "first in, first out" principle or other queuing principles when exiting. The system can print reports regularly or irregularly, and can query where a certain part is stored at any time.

(3) The control of computer-controlled automated warehouses mainly involves the control of stacking cranes. The main work of a stacker crane is to store, move, and release goods. After receiving the job command from the control computer, the screen displays the destination address, running address, moving direction and speed of the job, as well as the direction of the fork and the running status of the stacker crane. The control system has functions such as fork occupancy alarm, container retrieval no cargo alarm, inventory occupancy alarm, etc
